A love-soaked, summer rendezvous at our unique Tartuff film festival is the ideal way to set the tone for a beloved summer.
The 13th edition of Tartuff – the Black Nights Film Festival’s (PÖFF) love film festival in Tartu – has announced “Heavy Trip” as the first film in its line-up, a comedy about a Finnish heavy metal band Impaled Rektum that dreams of headlining a big music festival.
Described by The Hollywood Reporter as a “rollicking romp”, this is the debut feature from filmmakers Juuso Laatio and Jukka Vidgren. “We hope the audiences will get a kick out of this fun Nordic madness,” said the programme director Dagmar Raudam.
“Heavy Trip” premiered in March in the US at South by Southwest.
Tartuff will be taking place from August 13-18 when the Tartu Town Hall Square will once again turn into the biggest open air cinema in Estonia. All screenings are free of charge.
